Food Grade Grease & Oil

Non-Toxic, Food Grade Lubrication for Reliable, Safe Operation

Overview

In food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, equipment reliability and compliance with strict safety standards are essential. Lubrication Engineers’ food-grade greases and oils are formulated for clean performance under demanding conditions. All NSF H1 lubricants are certified for incidental food contact, Kosher Pareve, and Halal certified by IFANCA, ensuring they meet the requirements of today’s processing environments.

LE also provides H2 lubricants for non-food contact applications such as oven chains, enclosed gears, air compressors, and hydraulic systems. This complete line of food-grade and supporting lubricants allows facilities to maintain reliable performance and protection across the entire plant.

Engineered to withstand frequent washdowns, high temperatures, and contamination risks, LE’s lubricants deliver lasting film strength, corrosion resistance, and mechanical stability. Whether using additive-free USP-grade white mineral oils or advanced synthetic formulations with Quinplex®, they provide dependable protection that helps ensure smooth operation and continued compliance with food safety standards.

NSF H1 Food-Grade Lubricants

LE provides a range of NSF H1 food-grade lubricants tailored to critical processing equipment, offering reliable protection and consistent performance under extreme operating conditions.

USDA H2 Food Machinery Lubricants

Certain equipment in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical plants requires H2 lubricants for non-food contact areas. While H1 products are cleared for use where incidental food contact may occur, H2 lubricants are designed for supporting systems typically below or outside the production line where no food contact is possible.

H1 lubricants can be used as anti-rust coatings, release agents on gaskets or seals, or greases for moving components in direct proximity to processing zones. H2 lubricants, on the other hand, are used in oven chains, air compressors, enclosed gears, circulating oil systems, industrial turbines, hydraulics, and other utility applications.

Recommended for Non-Food Contact Areas

H2 lubricants meet USDA H2 criteria and provide dependable protection in areas subject to heat, moisture, or high mechanical stress. Most LE lubricants meet or exceed these standards, offering versatility across diverse plant operations.

Typical Applications

Food-grade greases are designed to protect machinery operating in environments where safety, cleanliness, and reliability are critical. Common applications include:

  • Mixers and Blenders: Bearings and seals exposed to moisture, heat, and vibration.
  • Conveyors and Packaging Equipment: Chains, rollers, and guide rails requiring clean, tacky lubrication.
  • Ovens and Bakery Equipment: High-temperature bearings and chains exposed to continuous heat cycles.
  • Bottling and Canning Lines: Gearboxes and slides subject to washdowns and humidity.
  • Meat and Poultry Processing Equipment: Pivot points and drive systems requiring NSF H1-certified grease.
  • Dairy and Beverage Filling Machinery: Valves, pumps, and agitators where incidental food contact may occur.

Lubrication Technologies, Inc. has been an independent manufacturer’s representative of Lubrication Engineers, Inc. for over 45 years. LE’s line of high-performance lubricants – manufactured and made of highly refined base oils and proprietary additives – far exceed the performance of conventional lubricants in a wide variety of industrial and automotive applications. LE greases offer benefits such as reduced wear, reduced operating temperatures, longer equipment life, enhanced performance, increased efficiency, increased uptime, lower grease consumption, longer service intervals and reduced maintenance. LTI, has designed and installed Automatic Lubrication Systems for the Aggregate Industry; excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders, compactors and many other applications, both large and small. Not only does the aggregate industry have hauling equipment, there are the other applications that need lubrication systems/operations, such as crushing, screening, stacking, loading, and digging. As each of our systems is custom designed, we can provide many varying configurations, depending on the size of the machine in which they are used.
