CENTRI® Air PreCleaners

Although dirt can enter an engine from different sources, the most common path is through the air intake system. Research shows that airborne dirt particles ranging in size from 10 to 100 microns cause premature wear of bearings, rings and cylinder surfaces resulting in excessive oil consumption and premature repair and replacement of parts. A CENTRI® Air PreCleaner fitted to the air intake of the filter canister allows cleaner air to enter the engine. As air is drawn in through the CENTRI® PreCleaner, centrifugal force and a spinning impeller force the heavier than air particulate to the outer edge of the hood. That dirt is expelled through a louver in the hood and the cleaner air is drawn into the filter. Installing a CENTRI® PreCleaner is quick and easy and can save you money in many ways including fewer filter changes, less downtime, better fuel efficiency, longer engine life, and safer work environments.

How CENTRI® Air PreCleaners Work

How Precleaners Work1. Dirty air enters the CENTRI®, which is clamped onto your equipment’s air intake.

2. Specially-designed vanes, curved and angled to precisely direct air flow, move the dirty air toward the stainless steel impeller.

3. The dynamically balanced, one piece impeller (CENTRI®’s only moving part) creates a tornado inside the housing.

4. The centrifugal force of the tornado expels the heavier than air dirt particles, chaff, dust, snow, rain, etc., out the discharge louver.

5. Cleaned air enters the engine intake pipe, and the filter element has only the very light particles to remove.

Some types of precleaners clog frequently and require frequent cleaning, must be mounted vertically and are only efficient within a limited range of particle sizes. Others can cause re-ignition of unspent fuel leading to a rapid “burn out” situation in the muffler or exhaust stack or create back-pressure which results in an engine running hotter and less efficiently. And, others rust and corrode.

CENTRI® PreCleaners are constructed of heavy duty, non-rusting aluminum and stainless steel. Lightweight but robust and requiring no additional clamps or supports. Easy installation allows for mounting in any position, including inverted.

  • Fewer Filter Changes; Less Downtime
  • Better Fuel Efficiency
  • Longer Engine Life
  • Safer Work Environment

Selecting A CENTRI® Air PreCleaner

CENTRI® Air PreCleaners are sized by the airflow of the engine (measured in cubic feet per minute or C.F.M.), never by intake size, which could compromise efficiency.

Eight CENTRI® Air PreCleaner models cover your clean air requirements from 50 to 1600 CFM.

Once CFM is determined, the correctly sized PreCleaner can be installed in minutes, so your savings begin right away!

Lubricants - Small Cost, Huge Returns

Lubrication Management Programs Protect Your Assets and Save You Money:

Although lubricants make up a mere 3% of the typical maintenance budget; using ineffective products, techniques and applications can have a significant impact on the lubrication-related costs that make up 40% of that budget. A Lubrication Management Program designed by the Technical Consultants at Lubrication Technologies, Inc. can help you target those areas where you see red.

  • Your equipment and components will last longer, run more efficiently and more reliably, and you won’t replace equipment or components prematurely
  • Your labor force will spend less time on routine lubrication-related maintenance and no time on lubricant-related equipment failures
  • You’ll reduce over-all lubricant consumption as well as waste
