Steel Industry

Built for Heat. Designed for Load.

Steel production environments push equipment to the absolute limit. High temperatures, heavy loads, abrasive materials, and continuous operation all create conditions where standard lubrication methods fall short. Bearings, gears, rollers, and chains are constantly exposed to heat, scale, and contamination, making consistent lubrication critical to preventing premature wear and costly downtime.

Steel facilities require different lubrication strategies depending on system size, distance between lubrication points, and operating conditions. Lubrication Technologies provides complete lubrication and reliability solutions tailored to these demands, from large-scale dual line systems to controlled progressive and air/oil lubrication.

Our systems are designed to deliver consistent lubrication across long distances, high pressures, and complex equipment layouts, helping improve uptime, extend equipment life, and increase overall operational efficiency.

Dual Line Lubrication Systems

Dual Line Overview

Dual line lubrication systems are designed for large-scale steel applications where lubricant must be delivered over long distances and across many lubrication points. These systems are commonly used in rolling mills, casting lines, and heavy-duty material handling equipment where reliability is critical.

By alternating pressure between two main supply lines, dual line systems ensure consistent lubricant delivery throughout the entire system, even in complex layouts. This design allows for dependable operation in harsh environments where uptime is essential.

Dual line systems can be configured to handle grease, oil, or air/oil lubrication depending on the system design and metering components used, making them a flexible solution for a wide range of steel applications.

ReliaMAX® Twin Pump

The ReliaMAX™ Twin Pump is built to support dual line lubrication systems in extreme industrial environments. Designed for continuous operation, it delivers the high pressures and volumes required for large steel applications.

Capable of operating at pressures up to 400 bar and supporting long-distance systems exceeding 100 meters, the Twin Pump provides reliable lubricant flow across extensive networks. Its dual pumping elements operate alternately, ensuring continuous lubrication even if one pumping element stops.

Built with heavy-duty construction and large-capacity reservoirs, the Twin Pump is designed to withstand heat, vibration, and contamination while maintaining consistent performance in demanding steel environments.

DR / DF Metering Valves

DR and DF metering valves are used within dual line systems to control and distribute lubricant to individual lubrication points. These valves ensure that each point receives a measured and consistent amount of lubricant during every cycle.

DF valves provide fixed output, while DR valves allow for adjustable discharge to match specific application requirements. This flexibility allows systems to be fine-tuned for different components within the same operation.

For air/oil applications, specialized DR.A and DF.A valves incorporate an internal air circuit that mixes compressed air with oil, delivering a controlled air-oil flow to each outlet. This allows dual line systems to support applications requiring precise, low-volume lubrication combined with cooling and contamination protection.

The modular design allows multiple outlets to be configured on a single base, supporting system expansion and simplifying maintenance. Visual indicators provide confirmation of operation, making it easier to monitor system performance in demanding steel environments.

Progressive Lubrication Systems

Progressive Overview

Progressive lubrication systems are designed to deliver precise, controlled lubrication across multiple points using a fixed sequence. Each lubrication point receives a measured amount of lubricant before the next cycle begins, ensuring consistent and reliable operation.

These systems are well suited for steel applications where equipment operates under heavy loads, high temperatures, and continuous duty. By delivering lubricant in a controlled sequence, progressive systems help maintain proper lubrication across all points while reducing the risk of uneven wear.

Because the system operates in sequence, any blockage will stop the cycle. This makes faults immediately visible and prevents undetected lubrication failures, improving maintenance response and overall system reliability.

PEG and PEO Pumps

PEG and PEO pumps are used to power progressive lubrication systems in demanding industrial environments. Built with heavy-duty metal reservoirs and robust internal components, these pumps are designed specifically for durability in harsh conditions like those found in steel production.

Engineered for high-pressure operation, these pumps use a cam-driven system with multiple pumping elements to deliver a precise and repeatable volume of lubricant per cycle. Their rugged construction allows them to withstand heat, vibration, and contamination while maintaining consistent performance.

Available in a range of configurations, PEG and PEO pumps can support systems with hundreds of lubrication points from a single unit. Their ability to operate in both intermittent and continuous cycles makes them a reliable solution for steel processing equipment where uptime and long-term durability are critical.

DMX Divider Valves

DMX divider valves are used within progressive lubrication systems to meter and distribute lubricant across multiple points. Using a piston-based sequence, each element delivers a fixed and repeatable amount of lubricant, ensuring accurate and consistent lubrication throughout the system.

Because the system operates in sequence, any interruption will stop the cycle. This makes faults immediately visible and prevents undetected lubrication failures, allowing for faster maintenance response.

In air/oil applications, DMX-A valves are used to meter and distribute a controlled mixture of oil and air. This allows progressive systems to support high-speed and high-temperature applications where precise lubrication and cooling are required.

The modular design allows for flexible system configurations and easy expansion, making DMX valves a reliable solution for steel applications where precision and consistency are required.

Lubricants

Lubricants used in steel applications must perform under high loads, extreme temperatures, and harsh operating conditions. Selecting the right lubricant is critical to ensuring reliable system performance and long component life.
