Lubrication Technologies’ Showcase
Peterbilt 548 Single Axle All Season Dump
Project Overview
Daily service on dump trucks can quickly become a chore when dozens of fittings need attention across the chassis, dump body, and conveyor assembly. On this Peterbilt 548 All Season Dump, a ReliaMAX™ automatic lubrication system was added to eliminate the constant manual greasing routine. With 43 points serviced automatically, the system ensures critical components receive the right amount of grease every time the truck is in use.
The installation features a 4 kg ReliaMAX™ electric grease pump paired with a series progressive divider valve network that ensures every lubrication point receives the proper amount of grease, including kingpins, shackles, dump and side cylinder pins, tailgate locks, and the conveyor assembly. The system’s design takes the guesswork out of greasing, replacing the uneven and labor-intensive manual process with reliable automation.
Equally important is the lubricant itself. The system runs on Almagard® Vari-Purpose Lubricant (3751), an NLGI 1 grease known for its exceptional water resistance, load-carrying capacity, and ability to stay in place under vibration. These qualities make it particularly effective for trucks that operate in wet, dirty, or high-pressure environments where conventional greases would quickly be pushed out or washed away.
Together, the ReliaMAX™ system and Almagard® 3751 provide round-the-clock protection that minimizes downtime, prevents premature wear, and keeps this specialized dump truck productive across seasons.
