Peterbilt 520 / New Way Sidewinder Side Loader Refuse Truck

This New Way Sidewinder side loader refuse body, built on a Peterbilt 520 chassis, was outfitted with a ReliaMAX™ Automatic Lubrication System that greases 79 critical points. Engineered for demanding municipal waste routes, the system lowers maintenance needs and extends the life of the chassis, body, and high-cycle side-arm.

The side-arm can cycle up to 1,600 times per day, placing extreme stress on its pivot points and bearings. To meet this demand, the system uses Almagard® Vari-Purpose Lubricant (3751), a high-performance NLGI 1 grease designed to withstand shock loading, water washout, and continuous pressure. A 4 kg ReliaMAX™ electric grease pump powers the system and ensures each lubrication point receives a precise, timed dose of grease.

By delivering consistent lubrication during operation, this installation helps prevent premature wear, improves uptime, and supports reliable performance in daily refuse collection. Built for tough municipal collection work, it enhances reliability and extends the service life of the chassis, body, and side-arm, keeping the refuse truck productive and efficient on demanding routes.
