Lubrication Technologies’ Showcase
Elgin Pelican Broom Sweeper with Dirt Shoe
Project Overview:
This Elgin Pelican broom sweeper, outfitted with a dirt-shoe assembly for curb work, was equipped with a ReliaMAX™ Automatic Lubrication System to reduce daily service and protect critical wear points. The system greases 19 locations, including dirt-shoe pivots, steer-cylinder pins and rod ends, elevator bearings, the guide-wheel housing pivot, swing-arm guide, and the right rear brush bearing. Consistent lubrication at these spots helps prevent premature wear from constant vibration and abrasive debris.
A 4 kg ReliaMAX™ electric grease pump powers the installation and is filled with Monolec® Multiplex Lubricant (4622), an NLGI 2 grease formulated for water resistance, mechanical stability, and load-carrying capability. Automating grease delivery minimizes manual servicing, reduces the chance of missed points, and keeps the sweeper operating efficiently on demanding street-cleaning routes.
