Rotary Gear Spray Lubrication System

Project Overview

To enhance gear protection and ensure precise lubricant application, this operation upgraded to a Rotary Gear Spray Lubrication System. Designed for a single pinion drive bull gear, the system delivers lubricant via three air/grease mix spray nozzles, ensuring even coverage and reduced wear.

The system features a Heavy Duty Air Operated Grease Pump (60:1) for consistent lubricant delivery, paired with a progressive divider valve that meters grease to each application point. A heated drum band helps maintain optimal lubricant viscosity in colder conditions, preventing grease thickening and ensuring reliable flow. A digital controller with real-time monitoring capabilities allows operators to track system performance, while a NEMA 4X enclosure protects key components in demanding environments.

Additional features include an after-blow function to prevent nozzle clogging, fault monitoring with red strobe alerts, and SCADA-compatible dry contacts for integration with plant monitoring systems. This automated solution ensures optimal lubrication intervals, helping to maintain lower pinion temperatures and extend gear life.
