Paper Mill Press Rolls

Project Overview

High-speed press sections in paper mills place constant stress on press roll bearings that operate continuously under heavy loads and elevated temperatures. To improve lubrication consistency and reduce manual servicing, a ReliaMAX® automatic lubrication system was installed to support critical press roll bearing locations throughout the machine.

The system supplies grease to both top and bottom bearing positions across multiple press roll stations, ensuring even distribution and proper film thickness at each lubrication point. This helps reduce metal-to-metal contact, limit heat buildup, and maintain stable bearing operation during extended production runs.

A ReliaMAX® Electric Grease Pump with an 8 kg reservoir feeds a series progressive lubrication network that meters precise grease volumes to each bearing outlet. By automating the lubrication process, maintenance personnel no longer need to manually grease individual rolls, improving safety, reducing labor time, and minimizing the risk of missed lubrication points.

This installation supports reliable press operation, protects critical rotating components, and helps maintain steady production performance in demanding paper manufacturing environments.
